Welcome to the
Bamberg Veterinary Clinic

Bamberg Veterinary Clinic Building

NOTE:  Our veterinary clinic’s last day of operation is 30 May 2014 due to base closure.  Owners should pick up their pet’s record prior to 30 May 2014.  Pet records remaining at our clinic after 30 May 2014 will be transferred to the Vilseck veterinary clinic.

Our Mission
Support the Bamberg community with veterinary care for government owned and privately owned animals.

Access:
Privately owned animals of eligible military medical beneficiaries are authorized to receive veterinary care on a space available basis. The following categories of personnel are authorized to receive veterinary care for their privately owned animals:

  1. Members of the Uniform Services on active duty and their family members.
  2. Retired members of the Uniform Services and their family members.
  3. Members of the Reserve Component who have been called to active duty and their family members.
  4. U.S. citizens stationed outside the United States who are employees of the DOD or other Federal agencies paid from appropriated funds or nonappropriated funds and their family members.

Services:
Until 1 April 2014 our clinic will provide basic services such as vaccinations, issuing health certificates, filling prescriptions and treating minor illnesses.

After 1 April 2014 our clinic will no longer be able to provide services that require a monetary transaction such as treatments, prescriptions or vaccinations. We will only provide health certificates by appointment until 30 May 2014. For treatments, vaccinations, emergencies, etc. please contact the Ansbach or Vilseck veterinary clinics or a host nation veterinarian in your area.

We will assist you with either getting your pet(s) safely to your next duty station or facilitating the adoption of your pet(s). Abandoning your pet(s) is illegal under both UCMJ and German law.

Garrison order states that all pets must be registered at our veterinary clinic within two weeks of arrival or acquisition of pet. Every pet must be ISO microchipped and have a valid rabies vaccine. Be a responsible owner. Don’t abandon your pet.
